I adapted this pattern, which represents kids holding hands, by alternating small and large bobbles. This represents a friend of ours and her 16 year old daughter holding her baby's hand since they didn't give the baby up for adoption.
This is a beautiful blanket and a kind and thoughtful gift.
The blanket looks great - and the adaptation of the pattern is touching. Sounds like they are lucky to have you for a friend.
