Reading this a few days later . . . here's hoping that a clear diagnosis has been reached. I can barely remember life before CPAP and that may be for the best. I got my first machine when I was 37 and while it sounds cliche, felt as if I literally had my lfe return to me. In the first period of sdjusting to it I fell asleep without the mask and half wakened as my partner was strapping it on me. Says a lot about how committed he was to it too. We actually would get to go out for an evening without me zoning out or being desperate to get home so that I could sleep. I can only hope that your treatment and recovery is a wonderful as mine has been. Please keep us posted. - Phil
Glad to hear that! I hope it goes well. So far I've not met anyone who'se beat my record of breathing stopping 120 times per hour (yep every 30 seconds). A Cpap changed my life, I don't lie down for a nap without putting it on. You might feel like you aren't sleeping at all while you are there, but don't be discouraged, as long as they get enough info on your sleeping and breathing patterns. From what you have told us, I think you'll do well with it. And remember to wear cute jammies in case you have a hot and hunky intern assigned to you ::grin::
I'm getting a second sleep test tomorrow night, seems I slept too well the first time and didn't have any 'episodes' until the last hour. They call that inconclusive, so I go back tomorrow for a full night on the C-PAP machine. Hope you get through in just one overnight. Oh, and my experience was that their laundry service is non-existent. Take your own towel for after showering all that glue off. Glad you are going to be able to do this, I met a woman at my LYS who uses the machine and said she got her life back.
I'm glad to hear that. I have suffered with 3 types of insomnia since I was around 7. going without sleep is no fun. Let us know what ya find out.
