Finished - Vine Lace Scarf

Alas, I am done. Inspired by those how do lace work, I am dipping my toes further in. Enjoyable scarf to make with fingering wt yarn from Sarah's Yarns.

I learned that lace work stretches more (I mean, I did not tug it either) so the scarf is longer than the 60" I wanted (8.5" by 72").

Back for a repeat photo shoot is Tucker my dog. Note the form, posture, and drama oozing. He looks like a peasant woman. Dang he is a talent!

Anyway...this is from Barbara Walkers Treasury of Knitting Patterns (the first book I mentioned).

Attached is an...attachment...for another angle.

Inspirational!! Beautiful work! Great canine performance, too. Is he up for an Oscar, this year? Surely Best Supporting Actor, I'd think.

Your pooch looks more like

Your pooch looks more like the noble, strong, quite-type, maybe out of Jane Austin - or Woody Allen, depends.... very nice scarf! Very nice doggy!

Well, I learned a few

Well, I learned a few things....so it was not fast to complete.

On NYE, without any booze, I was 3/4 the way thru and I do not know what I did. I made so many mistakes and could not figure out how to fix it. So....I unwound the whole thing and started over. Rick Martin suggested to use a piece of constrasting yarn periodically (run thru the open the stitches). I should have but did not know. It is something I will do in the future so that if I have to I can unwind the work and it will stop at the point where the yarn is...just a tip for others who did not know this.

As far as Tucker, all I have to do is say "Let's take a picture for Grandma" and he thinks it is fun. I think he will draw the line at socks tho......

Way to go! The scarf is beautiful, and Tucker the dog is way cool. Too bad "Men Who Knit and the Dogs Who Love Them" is already in print! Tucker could be the centerfold.

Beautiful scarf :) How do

Beautiful scarf :) How do you get him to stand so still? Most animals I have had won't put up with the indignity of being dressed up for the folly of those who feed them.

The scarf looks great, I'll be trying to see it on the other links you listed as well. And I have to agree that Tucker looks great modeling for you. I wonder how Bubba would like it if I try to get him in front of the camera. Mostly he is afraid of it all the time - aren't dogs the best?

Hey Rob... once again, Tucker steals the show... but the scarf looks great!!

We checked out "I Love Knitting" today... cute place. They have some a great sale going on some 100% wool from Romania (skeins of it), 30% off $4.95. I think I remember paying about $7 for the same stuff at Strawberry Tree.

Like the new picture too.
