Hi Trucker and the rest of the guys,

In response to the poll, I like them. :P so, I didn't respond to the poll.

Stitch markers seem to be a bit of an oddity in the knitting world even though they are EXTREMELY useful, especially if you are doing any kind of pattern repeating or circular designs, i.e. socks, hats, lace, fair isle, etc.

Since so many people don't know what a stitch marker is, I blogged about it:

Stitch markers do ALL these

Stitch markers do ALL these things. They fall off. They get lost in stitches. How many of those red and blue O's do I have lost in my carpet? Scads!

And I also hate those dangly foo-foo things...

Most useful for marking

Most useful for marking pattern beginnings, lace sections, cable sections, etc. I'ld be lost without them. In order to keep from losing my markers while knitting, I only use solid circles of plastic or yarn, knotted to make a circle. I try to color-code to mark beginning, middle, and sections of each row. (But sometimes I forget which color means what.)

Oh dear, I guess I'll have

Oh dear, I guess I'll have to come clean here: I love my little froo-froo dangly stitch markers!  Yikes!   I used to use plain little plastic coloured rings and then I found colourful kitschy dangling bangles on ebay and I use them proudly!  I think my knitting supplies needed some campy accessories!

I just use them to show when

I just use them to show when I need to change a stitch in a pattern that I liked & on circulars so I know where the beginning is. I have some fabulous rainbows that I got on ebay.
