Knitting Bag for xmas

kiwiknitter's picture

OK – I admit it: I’m a knitting bag whore. And, I’m not the only one on this site – you others know who you are! I am always looking for a better bag to schlep my knitting around in. I’m not interested in a bag specially designed for knitting, just a good-looking, functional bag. The only requirement is that it has a top zip. I seem to bring my knitting along with me just about everywhere so I like the security of a zip and of course, I must be at least somewhat fashionable!

I had admired this bag in the shop window for months and then – bingo! – it ended up under the Yule tree, a gift from our son. This is made from a nice red leather and measures 16” long x 12” high and 4” deep. There are lots of pockets on the inside but they really aren’t very useful for me. It has a wide black cloth strap.

I love it and just wanted to share it with you other baggers!

Is this the bag that was such a temptation a month or so ago? It's great :)

Thanks for "coming out"!

Thanks for "coming out"! I'm getting private messages from other self-confessed knitting bag junkies who aren't as courageous as you and I (grin). Yes, this is the bag that kept calling out to me every time I was downtown. One thing I forgot to mention in the original posting is how extremely soft the exterior is and that it is lined with a water-resistent material.

Visit Crafty Andy's Blog It

Visit Crafty Andy's Blog It is a very sharp look bag I will say. I usually carry my projects in a backpack or a hand made bag, but I would not mind that bag under the Christmas /Yule/ Tree either lol!

A little bit of searching

A little bit of searching turned up the following:

Energie has a US site, but it doesn't carry the bags yet: shop.energie.it They have a list of retail stores in the US and Canada, so maybe you're lucky enough to have one nearby.

There is a UK store that carries the bags in black and brown, but they don't have the red one pictured here: equip.co.uk

Kyle is correct - the label

Kyle is correct - the label is "energie" (it does look like "norgie"). It was purchased here in a one-off clothing shop.

I am not one of the bag

I am not one of the bag people, but this is really smart - or 'posh' as we English say. What a thoughtful son you have.
