It seems my picture was too big to be uploaded. I only vaguely know what that means and have no idea what to do about it. So, I guess you will just have to imagine my work. (Not a bad thing, your imagination is probably better than my knitting. lol)
I use IrfanView for all my minor image editing. It's free and (amazingly) works on vista. Resizing is really easy.
Grace and Peace,
I have run into the same problem. Two things that worked for me: use whatever photo shop type software you have to trim down the picture, save the trimmed picture to file and then upload to MWK. The other way is to print out your picture, scan the printed picture back into your computer and then upload the scanned picture to the web site.
Seems like doing it the hard way when you can simply resize it with your editing app. The tool is normally called either rezize image or scale image depending on the software being used.
Linux: because a PC is a terrible thing to waste
Just use an image editing program to resize it. I normally scale them down to 500 pixels on the largest dimension. If you tell it to maintain the aspect ration (which is the default setting on most programs) it will automatically choose the correlating dimension.
If you don't have a decent image editing program you can download The Gimp for free as it's an open source app. That's what I use (in Linux) and it's quite good. Just Google for it, there is a Windows version.
