Okay, so I just finished felting the blonde squirrel, and I have to say that I'm pleased with it thus far. The feet and ears did not felt quite as much as I'd have liked, and no amount of hand-scrubbing seems to felt them any further, but I am fine with that, really.
Once it dries, I am supposed to put eyes and a nose on, stuff it, tack the tail to the back of it so it doesn't flop all over the place (not sure what to use for that, but I'll figure it out), then sew the tail and the back shut! What a learning experience!! I can tell you one thing...I may have learned some invaluable lessons about knitting, but it'll be a cold day in hell before I knit another one of these any time soon. LOL

Your hard work really paid
Your hard work really paid off! It's adorable! I actually like the fact that the ears and feet aren't as felted as the rest. It adds another texture and looks intentional.
Acutually- you *should* knit
Acutually- you *should* knit another - because the second time through you will be utterly amazed at how easy it is (at least in comparision).
But do the second one in green camo with green fun-fur tail and then get a little toy Uzi for him to hold...Commando Squirrel!

Well, it's come quite a way from an amorphous blob. Really cute. Now give yourself a break and knit a potholder!

For all the confusion it came out wonderful. Give him beady little eyes, he's earned them :D
The squirrel from hell doesn't need a mate, he's tough, he's a loner, other squirrels just drag him down and hold him back. Give him a Marlboro and a bottle of whiskey and he's a happy squirrel. His idea of a good time is popping up in odd places just to torment his creator with his existence.
You have done a great job
You have done a great job and that tail is fantastic.

Cute! I see why you persist in spite of those strange instructions, and I'm sure it will be appreciated - you've got to write about the reaction. Look forward to seeing more pictures!
