As always, your work is an inspiration. I hope it sells well at auction, both for the sake of the scholarship fund and because it is such a gorgeous piece.
Great shawl. The colors work nicely. Do you have any close up shots of the shawl? Would love to see more of the details and the colors merging one into another. Is this one of your own designs?
The colours don't "blend" when you look close up; I just changed yarns. But it works visually - especially when over 10 feet away (the galloping horse rule - I love it!)
Will try to remember to get a close up though and post it.
Design was more or less made up as I went, yes.
MMario - ambiguity is cultivated, it doesn't happen in a vacuum!
The top band is almost orange, but a red-orange - then it shades darker until the final band is Burgandy. The top three colours are shades of madder, the next to the last is brazilwood with vinager - all those are hand dyed, handspun from 'The Merry little Lamb" (They have incredible colours!) and the final band is Jaggerspun 2/20 (I think) in burgandy heather.
Will be putting it up to auction for 'The Mudcat Cafe' and Folk Society of Greater Washington Getaway Scholarship fund (50/50 split)
