Ever since my younger son attended our local Jewish day school that requires all boys to wear a "kippah" (yarmulke) every day, I've wanted to knit one, because I don't like to crochet. I finally figured out a very simple design, knit flat in garter stitch with short rows, with a mosaic-knit hem, sewn together and felted. I'm happy to share the pattern. The one pictured used two ply Shetland wool on number 2 "sticks". The photos show it before felting, after felting (and shaping with a few punches) and in use.
