Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share some pics with y'all. I finished my chullo hat and it is very purdy. And I started a scarf for a friend using the My So Called Scarf pattern.
I just finished a MSCS as a belated birthday present for a friend. I saw an alternative for the stitch pattern of row 1 on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKpuUxVbQtc. Easy peasy! The scarf was finished in 1 weekend. Ok, no shopping, cleaning or cooking done in the meantime but at least it's finished.
This is my version of the recipe:
36 st (32 pattern st + 4 st chain edging - thank you Victor for the bright idea)
+ 6 mm straight needles
+ 1.5 skein of Wollmeise's worsted merino lambswool in colour Zenzi
= 160 cm long and 16 cm wide scarf in not so assorted colours
As it's a present, I hope he'll have other aesthetic values than I have ;-). I put some extra biscuits in the wrapping for making sure he'll find something he likes...
If there's a KAL, I'll join though (have some more skeins lying around)...
Zachary, look what you started!!! Ok, if we're going to do a knit along, I might have to go buy some stash...or maybe I have something buried in a basket. Hmmmmm.
Materials:
•2 Skeins of Manos del Uruguay
•US 11 Needles
•Darning Needle
Glossary:
•psso-pass slipped stitch over
•P2tog-purl 2 together
Instructions:
•CO 30 stitches
•Row 1: K1, *sl 1, K1, psso but before dropping the slipped stitch from the left needle, knit into the back of it* repeat until there is one stitch left, K1
•Row 2: *P2tog, do not slip stitches off the needle, purl the first stitch again, slip both stitches off needle*
•Repeat rows 1 and 2 until you run out of yarn.
•BO.
•Weave in all ends.
How funny... I was thinking about starting one of these yesterday morning. Then, I read your post... Then, I checked out the RSS Reader and see that elemmaciltur is working on one, too.
I'm glad you mentioned the My So Called scarf pattern. I had heard about that before but never looked into it - very cool pattern (it's all over the web, guys, so do a search for it and you'll find it). Give us a pic when you're done!
Take care,

The pattern can be found here!
Should we make this a MWK knit-along? :)
