I've always had this thing about Scandinavia, and so, have begun doing a set of Tomtens in the colours of the different flags...
Here's Norway...red body, blue cross, white trim...
This is also my very first attempt at doing snow cuffs; every pattern I've seen has had them being made from the cuff up, but, it being a Tomten and being knit from the shoulder DOWN...and I've never heard of snow cuffs being done in all garter stitch before...
...well, I just HAD to try it.
I kind of like the way it turned out.

Nice little
Nice little sweater and nice colours. If you didn´t know already; Tomten is Santa Claus in swedish/norweigian.
Thanks for your nice
Thanks for your nice comment. I really like those colours, too. I really enjoyed making it. Some child is going to be very happy and nice and warm.
As for Tomten:
I only really learned what he is *after* I made my very first from Elizabeth Zimmermann's "Knitting Without Tears" I fell in love with the pattern and had to find out more about it. She has a couple of sentances about Tomten which gave me a good base to look on the internet.
Interesting how we learn things...or at least what sparks our interest to learn things. For me it was a knitting pattern this time.
