Folks have asked about donating (and a few actually did!) in the past and someone once suggested putting a donation button on the site. It just hasn't been a high priority.
I also felt with things admittedly sub-par on the site, at the time, that putting a donation button up seemed a bit ill-timed. While I was going down the list of site enhancements, the donation button was something quick and easy to cross off the list and it would help our goals of nurturing the site.
I can assure you that the PayPal account connected with it goes to our business account so, sadly, I won't be buying any beer or Capt. Morgan's Special Reserve with it. It's the same account where those ad clicks and CafePress sales go. Out of that account, we pay our hosting, internet service, advertising, etc. I'm also planning to hire a consultant to streamline some existing features and do some more customization and feature additions. The site is growing and we want to mature with our community.
So, that's where your donations go. Please don't feel obligated because you're so not. Some people just like to give back and I'm very appreciative of them and dedicated to making sure it's put to good use!

I went ahead and donated a bit, and got sent to a strange aromatherapy page which seemed to have a number of error messages. The paypal receipt seems to indicate that the money went to the right place, though.
I've cleaned that up. PayPal was set to redirect to a Mountain Essence order success page after a completed transaction. I've tidied things up so it's less confusing. Thanks for letting me know!
And thanks to everyone who has donated for being so generous!
My point exactly!
If the site is worth spending some cash; then it is worth sending the cash whether or not cash input is needed to keep the site alive.

Isn't it worth it? And I, personally, don't care whether the money goes towards maintaining the site or whether Darrell spends it on yarn, or beer.
