If you've started on the heel flap, it's a simple matter to just take it back to where you started it... no need to go all the way right to the beginning! And it if was the turning of the heel, same thing, just take it back to where you started the turning, and put the stitches back on the needles and go from there. Hey, you had better learn how these things work, so that you can salvage your work, no matter what happens. And they will.

Of course, never being on drugs, I guess I shouldm't be going around giving advice for situations like this!

Your dedication still shows Mason. I'd be tempted to set fire to the whole thing. I learned a long time ago to never try to turn a heel whilst visiting my brother and his tribe of kids. Once while I was desperate I went into the throne room and sat there for the few minutes of peace and quiet that it takes to actually get it turned, You do what ya have to do. Hope you are feeling better soon

btw what kind of life line do you usually set before beginngin the turn, and how do you do it? I love the idea just don't know how.

I have to take lorazepam (brand name ativan, which is similar to diazepam - valium) on an as needed basis to control panic attacks and once after a really serious attack, when I had to take I believe 3 or 4 mg, three times what I usually take, I decided to work on one of my knitting projects, after all I was just supposed to knit straight stockinette for a bunch of rows. The next day, after the drugs wore off I realized that I somehow increased by five randomly over the course of about oh, thirty to forty rows.

Very sorry to hear that you are stranded and laid up. At least you have your knitting stash and supplies. Don't worry what your "loopy project" looks likes. Just knit . . you might be surprised how it turns out; something abstract and fun . . a loopy scarf, perhaps :)
