child coat with Raglan Sleeve

does anyone know of a good child size cardigan/coat (for a girl) size 5/6 with a raglan sleeve? (knit in one piece from the bottom up would be RAD) - I was given the request by my Niece that she wants a pink coat knitted. -- the things we do for young'nz. Of course, she also wanted ribbon it (whatever that means) - maybe as the belt?

help?

Well, I'm not sure exactly what you're looking for, but it sounds like you aren't that sure either. Here are a couple of patterns I found that seemed like they might be appealing to a young girl:

Coat and Bonnet has a very "antique" look to it.

Shag Cropped Jacket would have to be sized down, but looks like a lot of fun.

Girlfriend Swing Coat Sweater is not a free pattern, but easily ordered in electronic format, and looks easily customizable to do whatever you want.

She's very young so I don't know what she'd want - I was thinking of taking a cardigan pattern and modifying it into a longer "coat" type piece, then adding belt loops and a ribbon for a "belt" - I could also do some open work and weave some ribbons, but it might suit itsself to someone a little older - she wants something fun and fluffy and pink! I'm still searching for that good pattern - I have had no luck so far! (AND I don't think I have the yarn in my stash, believe it or not... I might have to go YARN SHOPPING!!!!)
