Finally Finished First Sock

I'm kinda proud of myself. This morning I finished my very first sock and it actually fits.

I've already started it's mate.

Wait'll you give a pair to mom. One of my mom's Christmas presents was a pair of socks. Guess what, she's already asked for another pair. "They're so warm. They're not like any other socks I've had." Now you would've thought having grown up in the 40's she would've had handmade socks somewhere down the line, but she hadn't...go figure...

Congrats, Mason. You're way ahead of the game if you've made socks your second project...It took me years to duel with double pointed needles.

Thanks. Being able to knit my own socks was my primary motivation for learning the craft in the first place.

So far I'm liking doing it on a single circular needle using the magic loop method much better. It's easier and faster.

Congratulations! I have not yet been brave enough to attempt socks. What pattern did you use and where did you find it? I was told about a demo video on the DIY network website. I have yet to look it up but I hope it is something useful.

I followed Silver's Sock

I followed Silver's Sock Class. It's very easy to understand and follow. I did make one change in that I only made the ribbed top 4 inches instead of the 8 she calls for. I prefer shorter socks.
