Hi Guys,
It's been a while since I've posted, and I wanted to share with you my latest FO. Here are some pics of my version of Stephen West's Old Forge blanket from Westknits Book Three. I used Valley Yarns North Hampton in colors Garnet, and Chocolate, and US 10 needle. The finished measurement after blocking ended being about 6 feet in diameter. I really enjoyed this pattern, and it only took me about a month to make. Even though there was a lot of stitches on the needles at anyone time, the changing of motifs kept the knitting interesting, and help keep the progress. This was the first time I use the Valley Yarns NorthHampton yarn, and it was a really nice basic wool for only about $6 for a 247 yd/ 100g ball. I would compare this yarn in quality to Cascade 220 or KnitPicks Wool of the Andes... moderately soft (and softened up a lot after washing), nice colors, and there wasn't a single knot in the 9 balls I used. I would definitely use this yarn again, and I got it from Webs (www.yarn.com)
