I was looking at the photos of the people I follow on Instagram and noticed one person crocheting a ripple afghan. So, I decided I was going to learn the pattern. After a few searches, I found a pattern and picked up the crochet hook. Here are a couple that I have been working on. Planning on these being Christmas gifts for my niece and mother. I hope to get at least one more done before the holidays that I can give it to a local children's home.

Lovely! I don't crochet but my mother turns out some really great stuff - and fast too. This definitely makes me want to learn.

Thanks! I tried granny squares before and they didn't work out so well so I put down the hook for a year or so and concentrated on knitting. After learning the ripple, I prefer that for making afghans because the work goes a little faster.

Very nice. It makes a nice break from knitting at times.

I'm a left-hander and for some reason cannot get the hang of the crochet hook, so I admire your work. One of these days I'm going to sit in front of a YouTube video and sort it out, but until then , I'll just admire the work of others.
