Thanks to our friends on New Stitch a Day, this old dog learned a new trick and applied it to a prayer shawl that I am knitting for a friend going through a rough patch. He requested something acrylic so it could be easily washed (chemo issues). The texture of the fabric is almost blanket-like and very soft. It's a four-row pattern that I am able to keep straight underneath my 50 Shades of Gray, except for the night I had a second martini. Had to rip a few rows out the next morning. Ooooops. Hope to have it finished by the weekend and will post a pic of the finished piece.

Hi Lou!
I found a new yarn by KnitPicks, but haven't tried it yet. It's 100% acrylic and might do well for your work. It comes in several different weights and lots of colors. It's called Brava and it's very inexpensive.
