Sun Satchel A felted Bag in Progress

This is the project so far. I am kind of halfway, need to make the other side. So far I have not had any problems with the pattern. It can be a bit confusing with the numbering.

I am using mostly natural yarns, lots of alpaca, few dyed yarns, The red is my kettle dyed yarn, and the black could be dyed as well.

The trick with the red is

The trick with the red is that it was mordant with alum cream of tartar, the dyes are Jacqard Acid dyes, cherry red and a bright yellow. Some vinegar about 1/4 cup per 100 grams involved, and they sat on a crock pot for about 12 hours in low heat until the water was clear.

!2 hours of simmering...Wow! No wonder it is so vibrant. The great thing about a crockpot is even temperature and relatively inexpensive to use, energywise.
