Easy to make, with plenty of ways to start or finish it. Using knits and purls for ribbing you have options. You can play around with the size by using different yarns and needle sizes. You will have “floats” (carried yarn) across the back of the work. Floats need to be relaxed, otherwise your hat will be too tight. The hat shown is 8 inches tall and 22 inches wide unblocked.
Yarn suggested: Kauni Wool 8/2 Effektgarn Sport 5 Ply (12 wpi), 25 - 30 grams of each color for adult size, 15 grams each for infant. If substituting the yarn, go with wraps per inch (12wpi), make a swatch.
This is my latest pattern and is my first Fair Isle Pattern. It is a quick knit and you can find it on Ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/daniel-a-fair-isle-hat or on my website www.craftyandy.net . Hope you guys like the pictures. Thanks for stopping by!
