Scrabble Tile Bag

ILHIKER's picture

I had some leftover Peruvian Wool roving yarn so I thought I would make something practical. Nothing special, just something for my hands to do. I didn't block it simply because it's going to live in a box and used only once a week.

Thanks Alan. Is the Scrabble wordfinder site yours? It's a cool site!
I had a nice time making it. I used Judy's Magic Cast on so that the pouch had no seams on the sides or bottom. I like that look. If you are interested and need a quick tutorial, you can find it here:

Hi Bill,
I haven't begun the afghan yet. Most of the designs I have seen call for a variety of color changes. I am thinking of making one that is all one color, but still have to decide on what that might be and if I am going to keep it or give it to someone. You can be sure I will post it once I get it going. It's such a wonderfully traditional design. Thanks for asking.

Nice. I think that this is one of the joys of being able to knit or crochet - making something personal, useful, or just mad for your own pleasure. I crocheted a small box/bag for the shed to hold bits that kept getting lost in there - nothing special but it still gives me pleasure when I see it - and I don't loose things quite so often now!

It doesn't matter where it

It doesn't matter where it lives or who is going to see it. It needs to be "finished". And to me, that means being washed. Well, that is how I do things... ymmv.

I love making little things like that, just because I can. Very cool!

That turned out quite nice.

That turned out quite nice. I may have to make one for my Scrabble set...even though it doesn't get used much anymore.

Hi Joe, My son and I started

Hi Joe,
My son and I started playing scrabble several times a week when he was 9 years old. Now that he is 29, we play every Saturday night. It's great when he comes over to spend the evening with us for dinner and lots of laughs. He even lets dear old dad beat him sometimes. Well, actually he fumes a bit when I do beat him. LOL

Well, he'll just have to get used to it. My sister, her sister-in-law, and I used to play all the time while their husbands watched football. [We used to use 3 dictionaries to check on words.] Then other friends and I had big matches, going on to playing cards instead. Still, a rousing game is fun.
