Sounds great! Right now, I would consider myself at more of an advanced beginner stage (I can yo, m1, k2tog, ssk, etc.). I've been mainly doing 1x1 ribbing for my scarves but would like to try something different.
Sounds like you are off and running. You seem to have the basics covered so it will be a matter of adding new projects as you build confidence. From the photo, you have great tension and smooth knitting so you ought to pick up new things very quickly. Lots of luck and enjoy.
There are several projects on Ravelry that I want to attempt. The Revontuli shawl being one of them. I think that would make a nice spur of the moment gift. Still have a couple of scarves to get out before Christmas before I can start something major.
I either have a scarf or socks on my needles at all times, frequently both, they are the most portable of projects. For the last couple of years I've been collecting lace scarf patterns. From simple to complex and everything in between - I have. Lace moves quickly in many cases and uses less yarn so if your interested let me know what level and I'll send you some. I have one called a Victorian Spring scarf that I can whip out in a couple of days and makes a fantastic women's gift. I've also made a very masculine box lace scarf. Anyway, I'm at your service.
