Dear Friends,

Some of you may remember that I was knitting a tie for my wedding at the end of April...well I've just finished it and, amid the joyless London rioting, have written it up to share with you.

Enjoy!

Oh thank you for posting

Oh thank you for posting this!! I remember hearing about it when you got married and was excited to see it. I think I have the perfect yarn to knit some coordinating ties for me and my husband. All the best!

Congratulations on the wedding. The tie is very handsome and accentuates your good looks. My bowtie project is struggling along but is on extremely fine needles and my hands cramp up after a knitting session. How I wish my friend wore regular ties. Yours would be perfect for him. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Hi David..First congratulations on the wedding. Then I must say, I love the tie and am going to try knitting one for myself. I love the colors in yours and saw some yarn that I think will make an interesting color combo. Great job. Have a wonderful married life.

This tie pattern will look

This tie pattern will look great using some of the fingering weight yarn from hand-dyed sock blanks. I'm teaching another workshop on dying yarn blanks on Aug. 21, so maybe I'll knit this up before then! thanks!

LOVE IT, David. Really well done. Congratulations on your wedding and the tie. You look great in it. I don't have the type of job that requires me to wear a tie but I like to wear them when I dress up. I'm definitely going to check out this pattern. It came out really well! Thanks!

Looking very good, also the tie. I don't wear ties anymore, but I just printed your pattern and will give it a try. I have some real Opal brand Harry Potter yarn that I think will work very well. Will truly be a "wizard" tie.

I wore a knitted tie when I was just a lad (a long time ago!) and this brought back memories. I haven't worn a tie in probably 25 years but I would wear this tie! It is very stylish, I think. And, you look great in it. So, how was the wedding?
