Does anyone know anything about Nicky Epstein? She has published a few books, her latest is called Knitted Flowers but I only discovered her recently and still have not see any of her books.
Good books! ...and a delightful person... She has a new book on felted bags...great fun patterns... they're BIG bags... including a swan bag that's great fun! Her "knitting on the edge" books..(there are two or three) are encyclopedias of stitches and patterns...
Nicky is a fun lady. I went to one of her flower maiking classes at The Point a while back. she was a great teacher. I also went to a presentation that she did at Museum of Art where she gave a brief bio of her work. It was arranged by Vogue knitting. She brought several of the items that are in her books & they were modelled.
I think that there are 3 books now in Over the Edge series, Knitting with embellishments. Do take a look at her books they are very inspiring.
She sometimes substitute teaches at the Fashion Insitute of New York.

Nicky Epstein is NY based. I have heard several of her talks/demos at the Big Apple Knitters guild meetings where she is a frequent speaker. Lovely and talented lady. Gained a bit of wider spread popularlity with her Knitting for Barbie book a few years ago. My favorite though is her book on hats that is out of print but quite wonderful and inspiring. If you ever find it in a used book store grab it. It is worth it. I think Knitting on the Edge is one of her most recent books.
