Thuja variations

Thuja is a nice basic cuff-down sock, so if you want to try some simple variations, it's a great one to base your efforts on. My mom wanted a pair of socks in blue and gray; I made one pair with an extra long cuff for her. She was pleased but I wasn't wild about it at all, so I decided to shop around for more yarn and find something that I liked. Added some yarnovers and k2togs in a typical pattern frequently used in Turkey (for men's socks I might add). This was the result (modeled by my friend Berfin, aka "Sweet Li'l Barfine):

Ah, I wasn't clear - these

Ah, I wasn't clear - these are the second pair (the ones I like). :) The first two are of a navy-ish (but not quite) blue and battleship gray tweedy yarn that hides the ribbing, and feels very acrylic-y.

Well... some guys mind you.

Well... some guys mind you. Although I think most of us on here would appreciate them and enjoy them regardless. Personally, I think they're pretty darn good looking socks myself.

That is a pretty nice pair

That is a pretty nice pair of socks. The lacey look of the patterning is very subtle, which is great for a man's design. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
