Dad is now a knitter

Had a great time with the family at Easter, and got a wonderful surprise. My 76-year-old dad brought out some socks he had just finished and showed them off. He also had some hats and a scarf that he had made. Mom says he's been knitting up a storm and really enjoying it.

It all started at Christmas. I was wearing a wool watch cap I had made and dad was admiring it. He started asking me if I could make him one like it, but mom poked him in the ribs and said, "You could make one yourself."

I had made the hat on a knitting loom, so dad went out and bought a set of looms and has been knitting up a storm ever since. I guess I have a convert on my hands. :-)

Wow that's awesome!! I had a similar experience with my Dad up to the point where he asked if I could make him a hat. That's where the similarity ends. I don't think the thought of knitting one entered either my mom's mind or my dad's. :-) I don't mind.

It's so great that your mom suggested it and that he's gotten so into it! Good for him!!

Hooray for your Dad! ...I think hats made on the knitting looms are really quite nice...
