The following slippers are loosely based on a pattern found in a book. I honestly can't remember the name of the book, but even if I did, I don't think I'd share it here. The instructions were IMO very poorly written and I hated the way they wanted to do certain things. Certainly not something that I think needs more money from our happy knitting community.
For example, they wanted these to be knit flat and then sewn up with a seam in the back. Faithfully I made one booty according to that system and then for the life of me couldn't get a nice looking seam. It also meant that the seam was made up of all 3 colors. YIKES!
So using the pattern as a guide (a very rough guide) I knit these in the round on 4 DPNs and a 8" flexible cable needle. The ears are completely my own design as the original patter called for a symmetrical pattern that didn't look "ear like" enough for me. I also avoided the stupid smile stitched to the front of the shoe.
They turned out extremely large. I probably could have scaled back a full needle size and still done okay on them. This way though, she'll be wearing them long enough to appreciate the cute little bunnies looking up from her feet.
As I don't hold the copyright on the pattern from the book I don't feel right sharing my derivation of these slippers. At some point I may make my own variation which will share much less in common, then look for a post with a pattern.
