So glad to be a part of this community, it took me so long to write something, because I had no idea what to write. I've been knitting for 5 years and making slow progress, but having fun. For the 1st several years I focussed on scarves thinking that this would help me to hone my stitches. Now, I'm working mainly on sweaters with some success. Feeling a little out of sorts, being the only guy I personally know that knits. Glad to be connected to Men Who Knit! This is a sky blue sweater i'm working on for my partner.

Welcome from me too, even if I'm a relative newcomer myself. Love the sweater you're wearing too. I haven't gathered the guts to start a sweater yet; I'm still in the throes of sock-freakdom. (And they say that can be terminal...)

Welcome!
It's always great to meet a new fellow knitter. I think that many, many men are closet knitters because of the silly stigma that surrounds the art form when it comes to men. I have only been knitting since September and find that I enjoy it so much. After a hectic day, it's great to just sit and knit and watch mindless television, or listen to music and just let the rest of the world go on its merry way. I really like that yellow sweater you are wearing, such a bright and beautiful color. Again, welcome!

I feel the same way Mark, It's so great to meet men who knit! :-) There is no one I know in my area that knits! All Women! This site was precious to find. Knitting.... I go to sleeping thinking about it and I wake with it on my mind. Ha, ha! Stigma~ I love all the things I've read about men probably being the first knitters. It made me feel a little better. I've gotten the looks..... YOU"RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE DOING THAT!!!!! Ha,ha, ha LOL!!! It's all I want to do! :-) Thank You so much for your warm welcome. You all have been so great!
