I'll be taking the site down later tonight to perform some maintenance and upgrades. It should only take a few hours and the site will be back before you know it!
Nothing on the front-end yet and I'm still in the process of scoping what exactly will change.
My current problem is a buggy script that's getting hung up on file names that cease to be unique once case sensitivity is disregarded. This could lead to me spending a lot of time renaming files and manually editing database records, though I'm hopeful this can be solved in code.
Image handling will be improved. Once some other dependencies are met, I'm hopeful we'll have genuine on-site chat functionality without it bringing the server to its knees. It'll mostly be little things, though.
I'll be less vague when I'm able to be, I promise!
Over the years I've discovered that it's the little things; and the unseen stuff "behind the curtain" that makes for a viable and ACTIVE website. The bells and whistles are great as far as they go; but it's the attention to detail that keeps people coming back and keeps a site alive.
