baby blanket.....finished
Wow guys, so I finished a baby blanket in 6 weeks, and trust me, I will never try to undertake doing anything like this again, at least not in such a short time-span. I think there may literally be some ' proverbial' blood in there somewhere!
I do hope you like it as much as the parents of the girl I knitted it for

Right, first off thanks for
Right, first off thanks for all the comments, you guys are making me blush, I have used variegated yarn, it was hell making all the colours match up though, as soon as I had finished one hank I had to look up the corresponding colour on the next one meaning I would sometimes have to start in de middle of the next hank, as you all may have noticed I have used 2 types of variegated yarns, one with the greenish/yellowish hue and the other with various shades of pink.
I have indeed lined the back I used fleece, as it was the softest material I could think off, and seeing as I have no experience with babies I figured soft would be good, I have made a few blankets and things using this same technique and once you get the hang off it it is not as difficult as it may seem

This is a superb work. I particularly like the fact that you kept away from the traditional "baby colour", which means that baby girl will use your blanket for more years to come. It's a beautiful design (congratulation to your artist friend) Have you done any other knitting of that sort? Please post photos if you have. Did you change yarns to do the background or did you use a variegated yarn? Is it stranded or double knit? It really is a work of art. Truly amazing. Congratulations.

The yarn is sport-weight baby alpaca, no normally I would never ever buy it, cause it's just too expensive, but a local yarnstore has gone bust and so I got a load of yarn for bargain prices
