Feeling Hopeful

Gregory Patrick's picture

I want to thank all of you for the kind words, encouragement, donations of any size, and especially, for the love. These have been some incredibely stressful times, and although I’ve had my fair share of difficulties in the past, this particular time seemed to truly beat me down. But, I’m starting to feel better. The sadness is lifting, and thanks to Ann, inspiration has been delivered. I’m going to continue to leave the donation button up, because I haven’t made my goal of $300 for the months expenses, but I am getting close.

Now for some good news! Been finishing up another bear, a larger one in classic fisherman’s wool. I like doing the bears and other toys because of the personalities that seem to slowly come forth when you begin to add the features. I’m calling this one Phillip. Once he’s done I’ll put him up for sale in my shop.

And other news on the publishing front. Finally, FINALLY, “MAD MAN KNITTING -or- The Waiter and the Fly” is now available on the Kindle. I’ve been working on the Kindle version forever, and as of this morning it went live on amazon.

Thanks again for the encouragement, hope and love. I promise each of you that when things get much better for me, I plan to pay the generosity forward.

I can certainly understand

I can certainly understand what you're going through. I was unemployed for close to a year after graduating college and fell into a somewhat mild depression. I could no longer afford my own place and thankfully was able to move in with my sister. Bills starting piling up, bank account started dwindling down. I went a whole month with $30 in my checking account. If it weren't for my sister, I probably would have ended up moving back in with my parents, who were also having some difficulties (my dad owns a small construction company so when the housing market is down, and it certainly is down, the money doesn't flow very freely)
Luckily I was able to find a part-time job for 6 months working retail, until I finally now have a full time job as an executive assistant. Money is still tight at times, but I've learned to appreciate what I have, and that I can survive on much less.
I hope that things continue to look up for you. Congrats on your book going live on amazon....that is so great for you! Have you thought about selling any of your bear patterns on ravelry? It might not be much $$, but it's something....just a thought.

So sorry to read about your

So sorry to read about your troubles.

I know that sense of helplessness can be completely overwhelming. I've been there. Amazingly, things turned around when I least expected it. I hope for the same for you!

I may not be able to help much financially, because I am currently unemployed, but I'll see what I can do. If you ever need to talk or just vent, feel free to contact me (michaelwspt@gmail.com).

Great news on the Kindle front though! That's certainly a step in the right direction.
