TNNA and free pattern

So today is the last day of TNNA, I think, in Long Beach. I am hoping that as I was told, my first ever published pieces were going to be on display this weekend at the show in the Skacel booth. I am both excited that so many people would be looking at my work and afraid that so many people would be looking at my work. I just hope that it will get me noticed a little more. I have been trying to get my work out there with patterns on my blog (of which there is a new one: www.smalltownknitguy.blogspot.com Dec. 31 coffee cozy), pictures on facebook, and ravelry. It is almost like a 2nd job. Part of the problem is lack of quality fiber in my area (very rural northeastern NC) and people just don't want to pay for handmade. Well since this is a dream, I will keep dreaming and keep trying. Someday soon I hope to hear, "Hey, isn't that Rusty, the Small Town Knit Guy?" To which I will reply, "Why, yes I am!"

And when it happens it will

And when it happens it will probably feel really wierd. I was getting abook signed by the author at Rhinebeck in '09and gave her my name - and a woman a couple behind me pipes up "Are you *THE* MMario?"

I was floored.

Much better than being the

Much better than being the plastic action figure, or the version sold at Sears under their Kenmore brand. I think a lace-making, butt-kicking, cigar-chomping super hero MMario action figure would do well with your Yahoo group, though.

If I have a little extra money, I buy yarn, fiber books, and knitting supplies. I get food with what's left over.

gawd, don't suggest it - someone over there would probably make one.
Though that's why I got cast in the movie I did a few years back - and I had a shawl in progress with me in every shot. Tucked under my arm during the actual shots and I got to work on it between shots.

They get to discussing me sometimes over at M2K2 or on Ravelry and I don't even recognize the person they are discussing.
