I finished a simple stockinette stitch hat and mittens. Both were done with 2 needles and required a seam. I did learn the mattress stitch. I got better at this stitch as I went along. I now want to learn how to knit in the round so that I do not have to worry about seaming!....I keep learning with each project I do. I hope everyone here had a wonderful Christmas holiday. Happy knitting, creating, and learning.....Cullen

Don't let in-the-round knitting scare you, it isn't difficult at all - honestly, I prefer it over knitting flat projects!

Lookin' good. I do prefer a circular needle for hats myself. I don't hat seaming as much as some people do, but I prefer knitting in the round when I can, and hats are a good place to do it. Haven't tried gloves or mittens yet, so I can't comment on that.
I agree with you that every project is a new learning opportunity.
