So, this is my first yr that I've decided to knit some gifts for people. Being that this is like my 5th yr or so into knitting, you'd probably think I would've done that already, huh? Well, not necessarily. I don't know why, but I always feel like I'm being "cheap" if I make someone something! I forget however, that knitting not only takes time and effort, but also that you have to BUY the yarn! With that being said, I'm working on a cabled scarf for a friend, a little bit of color work in another scarf for my mother, and hopefully a berret/tam for another friend.
Other than that, I've recently found the magic of duplicate stitch (ya know, like embroidery; it's not a knit stitch!) Let me tell ya, it seems a lot easier than actually doing knit color work and worrying so much through your project about the right tension. But let's see if I still feel the same way after I finish my first project using this method for my color work!
Finally, I came across this ADORABLE little knit dragon online on a blog... and I just have to make my own, but there seems to be no pattern! Oy vey. So I'm going to see if I have time to try to figure something out. Anyone have any suggestions for horns an wings?
Thanks all, and have a happy holiday! =]
