Hey ya'll! Are you guys as anxious about the arrival of Fall as I am? It can't get here soon enough for me. Here in NOLA it's "Hotter than two fleas fornicatin' in a dog's arse!"--as my very hetero, very Cajun, cousins would say! Speaking of dogs and Fall, I'm elated to share with you my inaugural knitting design! It was inspired by my love for kid's knits and my canine sidekick. Without further ado, I present to you, "Positive Chi"...
The pattern will be available on Ravelry by the end of the week. Here's a cover shot...
It is so satisfying to have a design idea actuated into a complete concept and then bringing that concept to a tangible fruition.
I have a men's cowl and cardigan coming out soon, so stay tuned! I hope everyone is enjoying their last weeks of summer!

That's way cool Mill! I was so going to compliment you on the paw prints 'til Ray beat me to it, but I did think that was a cool touch.

I think this is fabulous and already have the perfect little guy to make it for! It reminds me of the high end sweaters I see in the Jack and Jill stores. Thanks for sharing this with us. I will definitely order it.

Thanks Ray! That's a really nice compliment, and that's the sort of look I was going for. I'm so glad you like it! The pattern was due to be released on Saturday, but I think I may be able to get it uploaded tomorrow depending on what time I get home from the hospital tonight. BTW...welcome to MWK!!!

Millard,
That is absolutely adorable! I too love kids knits and I certainly love dogs! I even know a little boy who's birthday is late this fall that would absolutely love this... Hmmm...

Mill...that is a great design. My sister had a little red Chi that we all adored. The profile of the pup on the front reminds me of Trixie, it is so perky and alert. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Thanks Joe! I've had MANY breeds over the years, as I always adopted them from a shelter or fostered, but I have absolutely fallen in love with chihuahuas! They're a really cool breed--sort of cat-like really. Suki is a family favorite. My family members actually argue over which one gets to dog-sit for her when I'm out of town!
I never pegged on the
I never pegged on the cat-like qualities of chihuahuas...maybe that's why our 2 dogs and my cats always got along. LOL It was always fun having all of them line up for a walk in the park together. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Awww...thanks Bill! That means a lot coming from you! I've really missed delving into the creative process since I left graphic design over a decade ago. Critical care nursing definitely warrants creativity at times, but trying to figure out how to keep a confused, post-surgical neuro patient from crawling over the bed rails in order to "deactivate the bomb under his bed" and not pull the drainage tubes out of his brain (true story) is a whole different ball of wax! LOL
whoo-hoo! Looks great!
