There are two other really

There are two other really nice shops, well there are more but these are my faves. Steven Be's Yarn Garage also has a shop at 35th and Chicago in Mpls. Bella Lana (beautifulyarn.com) is at 21 4th St. SE between Hennepin and Central. Open knit night is Tuesdays at Bella Lana and there is a really great, diverse, smart, satiric group of knitters.

Depth of field is a friendly

Depth of field is a friendly store. I went there a couple years ago. Make sure it's still open.

There are quite a few good LYS's to explore.

The Yarnery at 840 Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Their website is: www.yarnery.com
The Yarn Garage at 2980 West 145th Street in Rosemount. The website is: www.yarngarage.com
Needlework Unlimited at 4420 Drew Ave South in Edina. Their website is: www.needleworkunlimited.com
and not far from Needlework is Linden Hills Yarn at 2720 West 43rd Street in Minneapolis. The website is: www.lindenhillsyarn.com

There are more, but, these are the ones that I'm most familiar with.
