I knitted this cowl for Chris (however I'm modelling it in the attachment). I saw the pattern in a Lion Brand e-newsletter. It's super simple. I used Lion Brand's Organic Cotton for this, but there's lots of possibilities for substitution. I need to find a stretchier bind-off before I do this again, but overall I'm pretty satisfied with it.

I was watching Knitting
I was watching Knitting Daily on television the other day, and a woman showed a bind off technique that was a lot stretchier than the normal one. It was named after a country, but I can't remember which one. The directions were the same as I found on their web site at:

There are two versions here, both of which are stretchier than the usual. If I remember what country is was called, I'll let you know. :-)

That looks incredibly comfortable and fashionable...nice combination and nice choice of yarn.
For a nice stretchier bind-off, I love EZ's sewn bind-off (I use it on collars and toe-up socks) and it kind of replicates the long-tail cast-on:

It sounds a little intimidating, but it's really quite easy.

Thanks, I'll take a look at that. I was thinking about using Jeny's Surprisingly Stretchy Bind-Off on the next one. Maybe I'll try them both.

It takes about one skein and a quarter of the Lion Brand Organic Cotton. I used about a skein and a half as I wanted it to have a bit more length so it would bunch up a little more.
