Colorado and Wyoming trip

WillyG's picture

I have a family reunion on Knit In Public Day (June 19) in Loveland, CO, and will be staying around Greeley and Cheyenne in the surrounding days. Is there anyone out that way that would like to hang out a bit? I also may need to find a place to crash the night of the 18th, as my aunt's place is really small. I figured I'd give it a shot and put this out there. It's sad to me that I may be forced to spend KIP Day knitting alone.

And because I like posts to have pictures, here's a gratuitous photo from fifties week. Blurry, but fun.

Hey, Cheyenne can be a pretty cool place. You're a bit too early for Frontier Days, which happens later in the summer, but the old downtown area is pretty interesting to walk around in, and you could so knit in public and watch all the cowboys and cowgirls go by.

BTW, my LYS in Arvada (west of Denver), Colorado, also has coffee and calls itself a "gathering place." I wonder if you Colorado knitters would want to gather up there while Willy's in the area?

I must confess, I've never

I must confess, I've never heard of Knit in Public Day. Do most of you knit in private, or what? I knit in public all the time. I guess it never occurred to me that there was anything special about it.

I knit at school during hall duty, I was knitting at several political conventions recently, I knit at the pub, I knit in the park. Maybe I'm just a promiscuous knitter?

Haha, I'm totally a promiscuous knitter. I just use Knit In Public Day to coerce others to join me in my sin.

We live in Englewood (south Denver), but I'm sure we'll be around on the 19th. If you don't want to knit alone that day and want to come down, contact me and we'll figure out a place to go. Happy travels!

Well, I live in Casper...

Well, I live in Casper... Kind of a drive from Cheyenne and the Greeley area, but your more than welcome. We have a spare bedroom, you'd just have to put up with all the beasty's in the house. We're having a knit in public day at one of our local yarn shops downtown I believe. Previously we've moved the fiber circle out on the street for a few hours on that day.

Thanks! Yeah, I checked out

Thanks! Yeah, I checked out Casper. It does look a bit far. Pity, 'cuz I know I'll feel trapped in Cheyenne for a couple days.
