Hey boys!
I know some of you have already seen this but I wanted to be sure to share... Chuck, John, Kenny and I did our own knitalong of the boxer shorts pattern by Skacel (the one that Kenny talked about on here which ignited the knitalong frenzy on MWK!) - with the intention of doing a "show and tell" at the Men's Spring Knitting Retreat in Easton, NY -
that has now happened... :) - and I am proud to offer up the photo of our "finished objects"!
You'll notice that Chuck and John went above and beyond the call of duty and also knitted matching socks! -
The retreats are an incredible opportunity to meet fellow knitters - I was in awe of the talents of MMario (HI!) and all the other guys who attended... it's definately worth the money, the time off work, and any other sacrifice you might need to make to take the trip.
I will be posting on my blog with a slideshow of many many photos, including show and tell, so if you are interested, visit my site - www.kylewilliam.com/blog.html and take a peek :)

I got my pattern as a gift from the other guys in the photo (they bought copies and initiated our little "knitalong" - but they actually bought it from Skacel (I think!))... check out http://www.ravelry.com/designers/skacel
and send them a message with your city, state, zip and they'll be able to tell you where to buy it -
OR
go to your LYS and ask them for the "Socks Appeal Boxers" pattern from Skacel - they can probably special order it!
just BE SURE to get to gauge... it's important and makes a difference in how good they look!!

The picture is fantastic -
The picture is fantastic - well done. I'd love to see some more pictures closer up of the individual pairs of boxers if you have some to post - please :-) I have been knitting them myself and am a little stuck really. I've got most of the two side panels done and the back panel - but have not yet managed to sort out the fly pieces and waist/leg bands. The last bit seems a bit scary really - the instructions don't seem that clear - and after looking at the picture DeceptiveCookie posted of his stretched finished boxers I got a bit nervous about trying to finish them!! The yarn colours you have used look really interesting too. Anyway - any of you guys got more pictures - please post them - and I'll try to get mine finished and post pics too.
there are more photos of the
there are more photos of the boxers on my raverly page - my ID is kylewilliam - mine stretched out too much too - my gauge was wayyyyy off... but oh well - they were a super fun knit. I know that others used tighter gauge and theirs turned out much better!!

I had the same problem when I made mine. Was it a superwash yarn? I tossed mine in the dryer for a little bit after washing and they "shrank" back to normal...

Wow, great pic. Love the boxers and the matching socks. So when was this retreat? I am on the east coast and just getting into it. Would love to meet other guys who are into knitting.
Hey Larry...the East Coast
Hey Larry...the East Coast Men's Spring Knitting Retreat is held each May, the weekend before Memorial Day weekend in Upstate New York.
There's currently a West Coast retreat scheduled in Seattle:
