Well, the ebook is out. I decide to call it Untangling Cables because it really does go into detail about cables and how they're made. I have gotten really positive feedback on it, from beginners and experts alike. You can get more information about it here and it's definitely worth a look if you wanted to make a cable - whether a simple two strand one or a massive 32 strand braid. They're really not much different once you get the knack. http://wp.me/PNDS0-eh

It did come through fine,

It did come through fine, just a bit later. Now all I have to do is understand it. One piece at a time, one stitch at a time, right Tallguy?

Yes, i am anxiously awaiting her new book that is due out this summer. During the process of writing this ebook, that was one of the topics that came up - a standardized charting system not just for cables, but lace and regular textures as well. As you know there are two symbols for both the knit and stitch texture, and a variety when you get into cables for regular cables and twists. I haven't even looked into the lace yet (that's your area - lol) as I have enough on my plate with the cables. I wonder what Lily has come up with - especially for reversible cables that have a rib pattern that is cabled!

There are at least three

There are at least three major systems for lace; and probably six or seven common variations. Virtually every magazine charts lace differently.

And while you are

And while you are de-mystifying cables; Lily Chin is introducing a new charting system for them.

That looks great. I'm looking it over and wondering if you could make a tree that way.

I tried to buy your book, but I'm not sure the checkout worked.

Michael, It worked on my end. Please send me an email at mrhugzzz@gmail.com if you didn't get the download. I did have a few problems with the plugin over the weekend. I will be glad to send it to you directly by email. As for the tree, absolutely. You could start out with a Saxon or Barrington Braid for the trunk (or even a 12-strand) and then branch out from there! It would be an interesting project. I may chart it someday ...
