Being a freak for nature that I am I thought this was a great article when I read it sometime back and waqnted to make a mat for the door. It certainly had it's possibilities but here is what I discovered:
1. Use glossy paper as the ink from other paper gets all over everything really fast and I don't know about where you live but glossy paper is not accepted at the recycle post so it would usually end up in the trash.
2. A mat is a good idea but the yarn does "pill" when wet and wet paper does not smell attractive. Makes me think of "will-nots" and why I switched to Charmin.
3. Paper cuts hurt and paper chaps the hands. If you are a desk jockey you understand this.
4. It's alot of work and more for the really gotta-save-the-environment industrious types. Would love to help out but I am heathen not druid so that settles it.
and so, my dears, if you are wanting to try this, then a word from the not-so-wise-gotta-try-this-it looks-cool-and-wait-until-I-show-my-fellow-spinners type, be an original, live and learn your own lessons.
Newspaper in my house gets recycled in a totally different way since the arrival of the puppies.

Ok... so I went to check this out and I don't know what to think. :) It's cool... but is it worth it? What would it feel like? I don't think I would like to wear something that was made out of paper. Maybe you could knit a lampshade or some curtains or something. i'm sure it can't get wet right? Sometimes I think that the green movement has gone too far! haha!

Sweet! What a great use for old newspapers! Certainly not something I'd care to spin, but it's pretty sweet just the same.
