Finished my sweater. Did a few changes to the original pattern. Pattern and Pattern support were great. Although a simple "just shut up and knit it the way it's written" probably would've sufficed.
Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery - Wool & Mohair
Needles: Size US6 and US8
Size: XXL
changed buttons to a zipper and moved inceases and decreases in 5 stitches from the edge for fully fashioned shaping.
Thanks Mathew for the help!

Although I really like the original version, the changes that you made really make it a standout! The zipper just makes it look so much more tailored. I can hardly wait to make this myself.

Very nice knitting. I really like the collar and how it works into the overall design. Is it knit as a strip with the ribbing picked up and knit onto it? -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

That cable pattern would be great for a matching cap, gloves [or mittens] and scarf. For a hat, just knit a strip to go around your head then pick up around one of the edges and knit up a crown. It's very traditional in Aran knitting to make them this way. Thanks for letting me knw how it all is done. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
