Hey guys, I myself have an iPhone as do several of my friends. One of them never has a case on her phone and just tosses it in her purse. She is a great friend and very giving so I wanted to knit something for her. I ran accross a pattern for a Stipey iPhone sock on Ravelry. It uses a cast on method called "Magic Cast-On for Toe-Up Socks" that was in the Spring 2006 issue of Knitty. http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring06/FEATmagiccaston.html The patter for the iPhone sock I found for free on Ravelry, but there are some errors in it. (number of stitches and rib pattern instructions)
Anyhow, I knit one up last night. One of the "issues" I had with the pattern is that my iPhone definitely would not fit inside it. I'm going to make another tonight and increase the number of stitches cast-on. I kept going with the smaller size and discovered it will fit a friends iPod Nano perfectly.
This was my first attempt with the Magic Cast-On, first time circular knitting on DPN's, and using fingering weight yarn, and small needles. I think it went well though!
The yarn is Knit Picks Stroll Hand-Painted Sock Yarn in the color called Cartoons. I like it a lot!
