Well, it took me 5+ years to get to this point, but I actually finished a sweater. This is the February Lady Sweater and it is for my mother...
I started it in mid-January and took it off the Woolly Board today (my brother-in-law and I made the Woolly board this past weekend; thank god for straight me with drill presses, planers, table saws and know how!)
Now I just have to complete the sweater for my partner and I can start one for myself. Damn that knitting guilt!

Beautiful. How could she not love it. I may be the only person who has never seen it. Is it also written as a baby pattern?
It is in Elizabeth
It is in Elizabeth Zimmermann's 'Knitter's Almanac' as a baby sweater. Later on, someone rewrote the pattern for adult sizing. Nice and easy to knit as a baby garment: I can usually get one done within a week of casual knitting. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.

Beautiful work, David. Your mother is lucky to have a son like you--not to mention our partner!
I on the other hand have told my 91 year old mother that now that I am paying for her housekeeper she has enough time on her hands to get back to knitting and I am putting her to work!

David... it's gorgeous! Your mom and YOU ESPECIALLY should be so proud. It's honestly a fantastic piece of work. I hope your shoulders are sore as hell from slapping yourself on the back because you deserve it.
Can't wait to see the next one.

Ooooo! How lovely - one of these days I'll attempt something that requires assembly. Really good job!
Lovely sweater for your mum,
Lovely sweater for your mum, and the colours look great, she should love it. What yarn and needles did you use?
The body was knit on Knit
The body was knit on Knit Pick's Zephyr Acrylic interchangeables, size 8. The sleeves on an Addi 16" lace point circular, size 8 (loved these needles!) Sadly, the yarn was of Mom's choosing and was just Lion Brand Wool-Ease.
It was knit top-down and the sleeves were picked up and knit down from the body. No piecing required! I did add a single crochet edge to the whole lot, sleeves included.
