Diaries of a Compulsive Christmas Knitter Vol. 1

OK... here we go. 38 projects in 52 weeks.... seriously. I have decided to impose my love for knitting and crochet on just about every single person I know for Christmas 2010. This means that I am trying to complete 38 gifts, at most current count, in 52 weeks! Am I out of my mind?... Maybe.

So far I am off to a fair start. I have 6 done and 4 WIPs. One of which is an afghan for my niece that I will probably be finishing this week.

There have also been a couple of bumps along the way. For example. I did crochet a couple of children's afghans as volunteer work for the Disneyland Give a Day Get a Day. That was about a 2 1/2 week set back. I also spent this last holiday weekend with my wife and kids in Tahoe with some new friends. Well... when new friends learn that you knit you start to hear things like "hey! I'd love a beanie!". So, my tally might be getting bumped up.

You know, Albert has a very good point. Everybody keeps wondering what to do with those small bits in their stash. What about gifting them to a newbie with a lesson or two? Start 'em off with a dishrag or something, don't even need too much yarn for that.

Alright boys... I get it.

Alright boys... I get it. I've posted a couple of pictures up. :) There is a giraffe, which I fell in love with once it was done, and a picture of one of the two DS cozies that I made. There will be some knit items coming soon too.

If some sissy tried to kick my ass I would say, "Hey, Mary, go knit me a sweater before I slap you in the face!”

Pics, Nick- pics, Nick- pics, Nick! I didn't really have to say that three times, but it was fun! Really, I'd love to see what you are working on. As to your friends who'd "love a beanie"- tell 'em "it ain't hard to learn"!

I had to say something similar to my sister...she was upset when the slipper factory [ME] got shut down. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
