Okie dokie boys, Here comes the tally so far and with that I will also spell out the pros/cons as I see them. (and remember I see the world through bourbon colored glasses.... all the way to the bottom of the glass I'll have you know!!!!!) And please correct me if I put you in the wrong place.
Ok..
Boxers: 6 people interested in this project.
Chris (being myself), Kenny, WillyG, Millard, (of whom I must measure for correct fit and gauge and must double check twice and who is also responsible for pushing the price of crawdads through the roof via that darn Saints thing or some such nonsense), AmBush (I didn't even have to guess on that one Aaron), and Scottly.
Clogs: 1 person interested but a talented man who could knit a slipcover for the Taj Mahal on a crowded bus if he put his mind to it with a bented pair of addies if he had to while kintting blind with pink eye.
Mr hugzzzz himself! (cheering round of applause!)
Felted Christmas stocking: 3 people interested but I only can count two as Bradley and Eric are still conjoined newlyweds that cannot be surgically separated. Let's pray for them. Along with them is Mitchpro8.
Now for those who I'm not sure about... there are:
Deceptive Cookie
JDCubed
Lars (who is just a spinnin' fool as of late and couldn't care less about us "muggles" Bless your heart.
Yarn guy... who sounds like he is sort of sick of clogs but not sure.
MMario I just don't know where to put you dude!
Now as far as the boxers are concerned. Both Kenny and myself have been trying desperately to get at least a discount on the price of the pattern. He called the company himself and it was a resounding "no". I went through my LYS and tried to do the same with the company rep. Nope, they is not goin' in for this ignunce. So therefore we would each have to buy our own pattern. The cheapest I've found. 5 bucks on the net. Which leads us to the clogs.
Clogs. Fiber trends pattern Ac33 (crap I hope that's right) anyway again around 5 buck for the pattern BUT normally readily available. (read no shipping cost) Please note that on this project there is an OLD pattern and a NEW pattern. The only change in the new is that it gives additional rows for a wide foot. And if your foot is that big. .... I wanna meet you!
Christmas Stocking. Pattern free but a fairly easy pattern that has it's good and bad points. It is knit flat then seamed up the back. If you have never knit socks before you can see just how a sock goes together, I think, more easily. Drawback.... not challenging for the more seasoned knitter.
So....... There you have it... Let ME know if you want to vote for one project or I am even up to doing all three as a KAL! If fact it would be interesting to have three patterns going at one time and look at the results, triumphs and tortures of each project. What worked for some, what part of the pattern sucks y'all know what I'm talking about. It's a great array of skills and budgets.
Do you want to vote on it????
Be warned... I am going to set a date.
Love y'all and thanks for being so interested and supportive of this online community,
Chris

Sorry I've been MIA!
Sorry I've been MIA! Traveling for work and whatnot! I vote for the boxers... I mean... we ARE a men's knitting community and what could more thoroughly male than boxers? Unless someone has a pattern for a Codpiece =-D

I'm willing to try boxers.
I'm willing to try boxers. I've done hats, scarves, and socks. Boxers seem to be the next logical thing to do!
OK, I'm in for boxers as
OK, I'm in for boxers as long as I don't have to do too much rewriting of the pattern to make them fit. And I will not be modeling them, unless you all want to go blind...and not in the easy, enjoyable way your mother's warned you about.
I say knitted the boxers it

It sounds too fun to pass
It sounds too fun to pass up. I flaked on the last KAL, but count me in. My top two choices would be either a pair of socks or the felted clogs (Andy's recent post was really inspiring!). But shorts would be fun, so I'm in regardless. I've already started "measuring" my "inseam" and I keep getting different results. Anyone else having this problem?
Well, I'll put my 2 cents
Well, I'll put my 2 cents in. Reading through your list started me thinking about socks! Don't know why really, other then I've never knitted socks and it seems they might be more practical than knitted boxers. My vote is for SOCKS!!!!!

As a Kilt wearer don't have a need to have a pair of knitted shorts, But would love to see all you model them!
I'll do the boxers if that
I'll do the boxers if that man in the pic posted before comes with them - or at least they make me look like him

YEah, the boxers that bill posted aren't the same. but we can do either one either way.....
I mentioned to Chris
I mentioned to Chris yesterday that there is also a free pattern on Knit Picks for boxers. There is a female version as well for the ladies among us (be you male or female--we don't judge here). They are more shorts than boxers, but look simple and don't require color changes.

Of course we judge around here!!!!!!!!!! Take Aaron, Lars, Tallguy, Bill, YOU!, Kenny, Queer Joe, Joe in New Jersey (Pieinthesky88), Mr. Huzzz himself and a host of others I cannot under the influence of Tuaca can name at the moment... But if I didn't "judge". .... how would they/you know that I love 'em! Acutally I love y'all. Everyone has been great around here..... but there are certain people I am getting more fond of.....
I shall leave it there,
Chris
I don't think I'd wear
I don't think I'd wear knitted shorts...but knitted full length pants might be great to lounge around in...sort of like sweats...it's cold enough much of the year in San Francisco to actually wear them.
I think horizontal stripes of wild colours in a cotton yarn would be fun...
The shorts are kind of
The shorts are kind of scary-challenging looking, but if you guarantee that I'll look like the model when I wear them, I'm in.

Mark,
I promise that you will look exactly like the model!!!!!!!! As well as I myself if you will close one eye and squint with the other then try and look over the back of your head! Yep then we will look exactly alike. And just what has HE got that we don't??? We have the same eyes, ears, nose, mouth..... I'm sure about that... I counted them!
Glad you're in,
Chris
Boxers!!!!!!:-) And everyone
Boxers!!!!!!:-) And everyone has to swear an oath to send a picture of them modeling the end product.
Im still voting for the
Im still voting for the Christmas stocking, not as challenging indeed, but there are some Norwegian style colorwork patterns I've been dying to try and I'm not confident enough in my abilities to knit a full-fledged regular sock...plus, it would be my first time felting too. Can one even do stranded work on felted items? Hmm...something to think about...but anyway..I vote stocking...or we could just change it to regular socks...that would be fun for everyone.
I think I'm gonna have to
I think I'm gonna have to vote for boxers!

I tend to Kibitz a-long (it's still KAL!)
I'm running as fast as I can trying to keep 3700 plus peoples happy over at M2K2; put together SOMETHING coherant (it's the coherant part that is the problem) for the spring retreat in may; figure out what I'm gonna do for the Old farts and Rustic Tarts retreat in June; plan for the time travel in July and August; finish the Winter MMYstery adesign and web-publish it; and whip up something for my Summer MMstery KAL, plus get that test knit.
And then there's the 30 somthing things that have actually MADE it onto my list....
