Is someone able to direct me to a site that gives you an estimation of how much yarn one needs to knit a sweater. For example: For a 42 inch sweater you need x yards of sport weight, y yards of fingering and so on. I thank you in advance.
Good to know, Joe. I have one chart in a generic raglan sweater pattern but it isn't that accurate for any other type of sweater. -- Books, knitting, cats, fountain pens...Life is Good.
There is a little booklet out there that has a whole chart of yarn estimates. That I carry around when I go shopping, but googling works too.
Thanks, Joe. I was not googling anything as clear as what you suggested. It looks like a great site.
lol...trying to post any link to my favorite estimator keeps getting kicked out.
Do a google search of:
yarn sweater estimator
and the first link is pretty good
