A friend of mine did a study
A friend of mine did a study on the health benefits of wearing wool (very fine wool) underwear and found they were very useful to prevent sweat rashes, chaffing, etc. The reason being that the wool wicks the perspiration away from the skin to evaporate whereas cotton absorbs perspiration and stay damp which can lead to sweat rash, etc. My partner and I changed over wool jocks having used cotton all our lives and they feel great. Another advantage is that they are cool in summer and warm in winter. They are more expensive that cotton, almost A$30 but feel great and you would never guess the material is wool it is so fine. They are also made in shorts, and there are bras for women who often suffer from chaffing under their breasts.

Wool longjohns with cotton inside...are even more than I can take...( it's psychological, I think) I prefer knitted cotton .
