I actually would suggest a "How to design Lace" class....

I'm interested in charts. I think. I heard a rumor that you should be able to visualize the finished lace by looking at the chart. I can do this with crocheted lace, but seems a mystery with knitted patterns. Am I missing something? Or do I need a drink first?

I think you can do a basic Do you want to make lace and have people do a triangle. Maybe ideas for men prayer shawls or just plain shawls for men. How to chart a design in lace. I liked the Ideas from Joe. Lace is intimidating until you try something and then you say, Ah that's lace , is not that hard.

I would like to understand a little about your design process if there's anyway you could codify that in terms of a workshop.
- designing circular lace using multiple repeating triangular patterns
- how to draw with lace
- how to keep a pattern circular
- clever little background mesh stitches that can easily be worked into a lace design
- a mind meld from Herbert Niebling

You know...just the simple stuff.
