Update on Tartan
It's official!!!
My tartan, "Cailleach" is now officially registered in the Scottish Register of Tartans!!!

I applied for it to be a Commemorative, but, they registered it as Fashion -- I think, also, because I placed no restrictions on it and it doesn't commemorate a particular person, per se, seeing as it's in honour of the very Goddess, herself.
Classifications, aside, later on down the line, centuries later, it's going to end up ancient, and tisks and tasks won't mean a thing... most importantly, official!!!

Have you ever tried to knit a tartan? I read something online the other day about knitting a tartan. It said you knit all the alternating colors for the horizontal stripes first and then do the vertical stripes with duplicate stitch. Seems like that would be very difficult and complicated.

That's excellent Robert! My grandfather on my mother's side hailed directly from Scotland (last name Guthrie). He died when I was 5. but I still remember him, and his strong Scottish brogue. It was my grandmother who lived another 15 years who tried to teach me to knit. (Never really learned until 2 years ago.)
Even so, I had no idea that you could develop and register your own tartan!
